Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use Mottle POS (listed on the App Store as HOTEL POS).

Last updated October 3, 2026

Apple Standard EULA

Mottle POS is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These Terms of Use add details specific to Mottle POS. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA governs.

Trial and subscription

  • New installs may use Mottle POS free for 30 days with up to 3 rooms.
  • After the trial, an auto-renewing Mottle POS Pro subscription ($35 per month in the US; local pricing is shown in the App Store) is required to make business changes. Existing records remain viewable.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Learn how.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how your property uses the app: the accuracy of rates, taxes and records you enter; compliance with laws that apply to your business, including guest registration, tax and privacy rules; who on your staff has access; and keeping your device, PINs and backups secure.

Not a payment processor

Mottle POS records payments, refunds and cash drawer activity that you take through your own methods. It does not process card payments, store card numbers, or move money. Reports are tools to help you — they are not tax or accounting advice.

Mottle AI

Mottle AI can make mistakes. Figures are calculated by the app from your records, but explanations and drafts are generated by a language model. Review anything important before acting on it or sending it to a guest. A reservation prepared by Mottle AI is created only after you confirm the complete quote.

Your data

Your records are stored on your device. You are responsible for making backups. We can’t restore data that was deleted, lost with a device, or locked by a forgotten backup password.
